I made this out of Vermont cherry and even though it is a small desk it has 26 mortise and tenon joints. The drawer is dovetailed on all four sides. The top is veneered in wood sawed from the same material used to construct the frame. I finished this piece with tung oil which when viewed in the sun really highlights the curl in the wood.

Davison Woodworking

Although I have been working with wood most of my life I decided to change careers 20 years ago and do it professionally. I built my own shop in 1992 and have been doing woodworking ever since.

I have made a wide variety of projects ranging from small occasional tables to kitchen islands and kitchen cabinets. I work in locally harvested hardwoods such as Vermont cherry, tiger maple, white oak and several other species.

All of my joinery is traditional mortise and tenon. Drawers are dovetailed on all four corners and, where applicable, tops are all made with shop sawn book-matched veneers and banded with solid wood.
